About Me

My photo
Vintage Reflections
We are a mother / daughter team creating vintage mirrors, mostly for fun! We also sell them in a few retail outlets. Mom (Melinda) has dabbled in every creative craft out there - from padded photo frames (hey, it was the 80's...) to filigree wrapped stone jewelry. Daughter (Kelsea) is a professional Graphic Designer in the Kansas City area who adds her own distinctive style and flair to the mirrors we re-purpose. You'll find both vintage and modern pieces in our collection and we welcome custom work! How do we do it? We are constantly on the hunt for old mirrors with interesting frames. Once we find a piece that speaks to us, we disassemble it and paint and/or distress the frame. Next we distress the mirror itself using a technique we refined by trial and error. The look is pulled together with just the right background - fabric or paper - and re-assembled. The final step is to seal the back and add hanging hardware. Of course, no two mirrors are exactly alike!
